African Resilience & Development Agency (AFRDA) is a community-centered development organisation advancing inclusive community development, climate adaptation and environmental sustainability. We work with communities, youth, women, schools, local governments and partners to build practical solutions that protect and strengthen grass-root communities, their natural resources and improve everyday livelihoods.

Our Work
Community Capacity Building
AFRDA trains and supports farmers, youth, women, schools, local leaders and community groups with practical knowledge and skills. This helps communities understand their challenges, apply realistic solutions and participate actively in their own development.
Community Diagnostics
AFRDA works with communities to assess local challenges, assets, needs and opportunities. This helps ensure that programmes are based on real community conditions, local priorities and practical evidence.
Demonstration and Learning
AFRDA develops practical demonstration projects that communities can see, test, learn from and replicate. These may include climate-smart practices, restoration activities, livelihood models and community learning sites.
Restoration and Resilience
AFRDA supports communities to protect and restore land, trees, water sources, soil, biodiversity and local ecosystems. This service helps communities strengthen their natural resource base while improving their ability to adapt to climate and livelihood pressures.
Livelihood Development
AFRDA works with communities to identify and strengthen practical livelihood opportunities that improve household resilience. This may include farmer support, skills development, youth empowerment, local market linkages and community-based income activities.
Partnerships and Planning
AFRDA supports communities and local stakeholders to organise priorities, design practical programmes and connect with partners who can support long-term development. This includes local planning, field reporting, programme design and partnership facilitation with governments, donors, universities, civil society and private-sector actors.
How We Create Lasting Impact

Listen & Learn
We enter communities through local leadership, engage the people in the grass-root communities, collect practical field information and document what communities are already experiencing. This helps us avoid assumptions and design programmes that respond to real conditions rather than general ideas.

Co-Create with Communities
AFRDA together with community members develop practical interventions that can be tested, improved and scaled. These may include climate-smart demonstrations, community restoration actions, community group training, livelihood support, youth empowerment and participation activities, local data reports or partnership projects.

Partnerships and Collaboration
AFRDA works through partnerships because we cannot achieve long-term development alone. We collaborate with local governments, ministries, universities, international NGOs, community-based organisations, private-sector actors, foundations and development agencies. Our goal is to bring the right people around real community needs and turn shared concern into practical action and development.
