Expanding Opportunities for Adolescent Girls in Africa – AFRDA Paper

Loading document…

Expanding opportunities for adolescent girls in Africa requires coordinated investment in education, skills, health and economic support. Drawing on experimental evidence from Malawi, Kenya and Uganda, this AFRDA policy paper examines how cash transfers, schooling subsidies, vocational training and mentoring influence girls’ choices and prospects. It proposes a coordinated policy framework to strengthen school participation, decision-making, safety and pathways into productive work.
