BARK: striking green and creamy white striated bark that resembles snake skin.
LEAVES: ovate, unlobed or shallowly lobed, and are mid-green to 15cm in length. In autumn, leaves turn orange to yellow, when pink-brown.
FLOWERS: small greenish yellow flowers appear in drooping clusters in spring.
FRUITS: green, suffused red.

Maple tree is native to Central China. It grows well in most soils and thrives in a sheltered location. In Kampala, this tree can be found at Coral crescent, Elgon terrace among other places.
